Iran Rejects Trump’s Claim of Positive Talks, Calls It a Bluff

Iran has categorically rejected US President Donald Trump’s claim of “positive talks” with Iranian officials, asserting that no negotiations of any kind are underway between Tehran and Washington.

In a statement carried by Iranian media, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs dismissed Trump’s remarks, describing them as an attempt to reduce oil prices and gain time to advance military objectives.

‘No Negotiations Between Tehran and Washington’

“There are no negotiations of any kind between Tehran and Washington,” the Foreign Ministry statement declared, directly contradicting Trump’s assertion of positive discussions.

The Ministry further explained the motivation behind the US President’s statements:

“The aim of US President Trump’s statements is to lower energy prices and to buy time to implement his military plans.”

‘War Was Not Started by Us’

Iranian officials emphasized that while some regional countries have made proposals to reduce tensions, the responsibility for de-escalation lies with Washington.

“Some proposals have come from regional countries, but all these proposals and requests should be directed toward Washington. Our answer is clear—we did not start this war,” the statement added.

Senior Official Calls It ‘Psychological Warfare’

A senior Iranian security official also rejected Trump’s claims, characterizing the President’s remarks as psychological warfare tactic.

According to Iranian media, the official stated that Iran’s threat of retaliatory strikes had forced the United States to postpone its planned attacks.

The official noted that Trump had issued a 48-hour ultimatum demanding the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, threatening to strike Iranian power plants. On Monday, Trump announced a five-day postponement of those strikes, citing “positive talks.”
