Christian Priest Attacked In Faisalabad

Web Desk — Unidentified gunman shot injured a Christian priest near Adda Khanoana in Faisalabad tehsil.

Father Eleazar Sidhu serves at Myong-Sang Naserth church in Jaranwala tehsil. He was attacked days after several churches were vandalized in Jaranwala following the alleged blasphemy.

Father Sidhu was discharged from hospital on Monday with a dressing on his hand on which he received bullet wound.

An FIR has been registered against the unidentified attacker under Sections 324 (attempt to murder) and 34 (common intention) of the Pakistan Penal Code.

The priest told police someone wrote objectionable religious slogans against him on the wall of the worship place when he was leading prayers in the church on Aug 28.

Father further stated that it was a few days ago when a group of people intercepted him when he was going to drop his son to the school. They threatened to murder if he delted the objectionable content from the church wall.

According to father Sidhu, when he was going back to home on Sunday evening, an unidentified man turned up shot him and fled away.

Police have launched an investigation into the matter.
