Web Desk — To help avert hacking attempts, WhatsApp users will soon get another security feature in the coming months. The new feature is already under the testing process for beta users only, which means the public opening is not very far.
Generally, you have to authenticate the number via an OTP on the registered mobile number if you sign into WhatsApp. The messaging app now offers people the option to also verify their account via email ID.
The email option helps if your phone is stolen or you lose access to it for some reason. Email ID is the additional security layer that ensures that you can log into the account from another device, as long as you can access the mail address.
For scammers, it was easier to target WhatsApp, depending solely on the mobile number. Scammers can easily access and get hold of the details of the account by using tricks like SIM cloning. But an email verification process is surely a foolproof method to secure the account.

The email option, according to details shared by WAbetainfo, is available on WhatsApp version 2.23.16.15, which doesn’t necessarily mean that the feature will be released to the public. However, it is pleasant to see the platform making the app more secure. WhatsApp continues to bring new features these days, making it popular among billions of its users around the world.
