Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has categorically rejected the proposed hospital transfer of party founder Imran Khan without taking the family and personal physicians into confidence, demanding that no treatment be initiated in the absence of his personal doctors and a family member.

In an official statement, the PTI spokesperson asserted that any medical procedure on the former prime minister must not commence without his personal physicians and one family member being present. The party expressed deep concern over delays in complying with the Supreme Court’s written orders regarding Khan’s medical examination and treatment.

“Treatment of Imran Khan should begin immediately on humanitarian grounds,” the spokesperson emphasized, calling for urgent implementation of the court’s directives.

PTI Leaders Demand Immediate Action

PTI leader Salman Akram Raja also weighed in, demanding that Imran Khan’s treatment commence without further delay. “There should be no delay in the founder’s treatment,” he stressed, echoing the party’s stance that health concerns must be addressed promptly.

The party’s stance comes amid growing distrust of government-controlled medical arrangements, with PTI insisting on transparency and the involvement of physicians trusted by the Khan family.

Ongoing Protest at KP House

Meanwhile, PTI workers and leadership continue their sit-in outside KP House in Islamabad demanding Imran Khan’s hospital transfer on their terms. The protest has drawn senior party figures, with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi and former Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur both present at KP House to oversee the protest.

The demonstration underscores the escalating tension between PTI and the federal government over the handling of Khan’s medical care. Party workers have vowed to remain until their demands are met regarding the former prime minister’s treatment protocols.

Background

The confrontation follows the federal government’s decision to form a medical panel comprising two retina specialists from Al-Shifa Hospital Rawalpindi to examine Imran Khan’s deteriorating vision. However, PTI has rejected this arrangement, insisting on treatment at Shifa International Hospital Islamabad under the supervision of his personal physicians, including Dr. Faisal Sultan.

The party’s rejection sets the stage for a potential standoff with authorities as legal and medical experts await the medical panel’s report, which is expected to determine whether hospital transfer is medically necessary.
