The Making of Masaka Kids Africana

The Masaka Kids Africana make a group of 30+ dancers. They all belong to Masaka district in central Uganda and most of them have lost one or both parents in civil war, famine or disease. The credit for the making of this group goes to a visionary local teacher from Masaka Kavuma Dauda who founded it in 2014. This was a wonderful idea and the non-profit used dance and song as a medium of expression for these children, enabling them to connect to each other and the world, see their own potential, and have hope for their future.
