Web Desk — Veteran Indian singer Lucky Ali faced social media criticism following his message on X (formerly Twitter) expressing solidarity with Palestinians.
Ali shared a post on X that read: “All the children of Palestine are mine.” His statement reflects the shared grief many feel amid the ongoing Israeli atrocities in Gaza, where relentless bombings by the Jewish state have killed, injured, and traumatized countless civilians, including children.
The message expresses a humane heart but some Indian social media users started trolling Ali online.
Hateful comments started pouring in as soon as Ali posted his message on X. Pro-Israel accounts questioned his loyalty to India while mocking his compassion for Palestinian children.
Several comments were personal and offensive. One user sarcastically asked, “Why are you so far from your children then?” while another wrote, “Palestine ke abbu, why have you left your kids in Palestine and [are] living in India? You must go there.”
Others were equally harder, asking him to quit “luxury living in India” for his children are in Palestine. The troll wrote, “Why are you living in luxury in India? Why don’t you go to Palestine to meet them personally?” Another taunted, “Now be a responsible parent and go there.”
The flood of hateful responses throws light on the challenges public figures have to face in their comments on contentious issues, especially under Modi’s government in India.
