Will Shaheen Afridi Continue as T20 Captain?

Web Desk — Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is going to take final decision about Shaheen Shah Afridi’s T20I captaincy after the fitness camp at Kakul.

Chairman PCB, Mohsin Naqvi told media persons that even he did not know about the future captain of the Pakistan Cricket team. Naqvi said the selection committee will choose the captain and he will not interfere in this matter.

“Whether Shaheen continues or a new captain comes in will be determined after the fitness camp,” he added.

With Naqvi’s statement, we can fairly guess that a new T20I captain might be on the horizon, with Mohammad Rizwan and Babar Azam likely to be the main contenders.

Chairman PCB said, “We want a long-term solution, whether it is Shaheen or a new man. Change of captain after every lost series will not be our policy anymore.”
