PTI To Hold Country-Wide Protest Against Alleged Rigging

Web Desk — The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) will be holding a rally against alleged rigging in general elections on March 30.

The PTI Core Committee meeting was held in Islamabad in which the current political situation and an according future strategy was discussed. The Core Committee decided to hold a ceremony in Islamabad on March 23 afternoon regarding Pakistan Day.

The former ruling party approached the Islamabad High Court earlier this week to seek permission for a public gathering in the federal capital later this month after the district administration kept silent on PTI’s multiple requests.

The PTI’s official handout says that the party would hold a “special press conference” in Islamabad on March 25 on the country’s economy, the new economic package from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and its impact on the common man.

The committee discussed in detail the content of the statement made by US Assistant Secretary of State Donald Lu before the Congressional Committee on Tuesday.

The party reiterated its demand for a comprehensive investigation into the alleged rigging of the general elections.
