The Foreign Office has categorically rejected the Indian Army’s allegation that Pakistan targeted the Golden Temple.

In a statement issued by the spokesperson of the Foreign Office, it was said that “even the thought of targeting a sacred site like the Golden Temple is unimaginable for Pakistan.” The spokesperson termed the Indian accusations as baseless and unacceptable.

The spokesperson further stated that it was, in fact, India that targeted places of worship inside Pakistan during the night between May 6 and 7. “These false accusations are a deliberate attempt to divert attention from India’s own condemnable actions,” the statement read.

The spokesperson reaffirmed that Pakistan is a guardian of Sikh religious sites. Every year, thousands of Sikh pilgrims visit Pakistan, and the country provides visa-free access to Sikh pilgrims through the Kartarpur Corridor.
