Investigators have made a significant breakthrough in the probe into the deadly suicide bombing at the Imam Bargah Khadijatul Kubra in Terlai Kalan, Islamabad. According to electronic media reports, the suicide bomber’s Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC) was recovered from the scene, aiding in his identification.
The identity card identifies the attacker as Yasir. His permanent address is listed as Abbas Colony, Shero Jangi, Charsadda Road, Peshawar, while his current address is given as Ganj Mohalla Qazian, Peshawar.
Police sources confirmed that raids in Peshawar led to the arrest of the bomber’s two brothers and one woman from his house. Investigative authorities revealed a critical detail: the suicide bomber had resided in Afghanistan for five months, where he received training in weapon handling and executing suicide attacks.
The investigation is now focused on dismantling the network behind the attack. Police are conducting a series of raids in Peshawar and Nowshera to identify and arrest the bomber’s potential facilitators and network members. Authorities are scrutinizing all aspects of the case, including the bomber’s contacts and support structure.
Police sources indicate that more crucial evidence is expected to emerge, which will help clarify the full background and planning behind this act of terrorism in the federal capital.
