Free Electricity For Poor If IPP Comes To Power: Aleem Khan

IPP Jalsa Kamoke

Monitoring Desk – Political parties are making tall or in other words “extraordinary” claims to win public support.

One such claim was made by Abdul Aleem Khan, President Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP), who vowed to provide free electricity to the poor while the power utility would be available for the rich at double rates if his party is voted to power in the general elections.

Addressing a public rally in Punjab’s Kamoke on Sunday, Aleem Khan said that the electricity would be free for those households consuming up to 300 units per month. He also promised free electricity for tube wells and petrol for motorcyclists at half price.

Once a close aide of the PTI chairman, Aleem Khan accused the former ruling party of handing over Punjab to “incompetent” Usman Buzadar, who “ruined” the province in three years.

IPP patron-in-chief Jahangir Khan Tareen while berating the deposed prime minister, said they supported him for “Naya Pakistan”. However, Tareen made it clear that his party wouldn’t make “Naya Pakistan”, instead, it would make the “Best Pakistan”.

He said that the IPP could steer Pakistan out of the current economic and political crises.
