Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has announced that the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) will be transferred to the new Islamabad jail once it is completed.

Talking to media in Islamabad, Naqvi provided details about the timeline and facilities at the new facility. “The Islamabad jail will be completed within two months. After its completion, the PTI founder will be shifted there,” he stated.

The Minister emphasized that the new prison will be equipped with all necessary medical facilities. He explained the rationale behind the move, saying, “The PTI founder was sentenced by an Islamabad court. Therefore, he should be transferred to the Islamabad jail.”

Health Concerns Raised by PTI

The announcement comes amid serious reservations expressed by PTI leadership regarding the health of their founder. According to PTI leaders, due to alleged negligence by the Adiala Jail administration, the vision in one of the founder’s eyes has been severely affected.

The party has repeatedly raised concerns over the medical care being provided to him, demanding better facilities and immediate attention to his health issues.

The transfer, once executed, is expected to address some of these concerns, with Naqvi assuring that the new facility will have comprehensive medical provisions.
