Afghan National Arrested in Texas For Making a Bomb

An Afghan man has been arrested in the U.S. state of Texas after claiming he had built a bomb.

According to Fox News, the arrested individual has been identified as Dawood Alokzai, who had been brought to the United States under the Allies Welcome Operation. Alokzai was issued a U.S. green card on September 7, 2022.

U.S. media reports that he posted a video on TikTok in which he claimed to have made a bomb and said he intended to target the city of Fort Worth.

Alokzai was taken into custody by the Department of Homeland Security, and legal proceedings are currently underway.

Meanwhile, following a recent shooting incident involving National Guards in Washington, authorities across the United States have intensified surveillance of Afghan nationals. Processing of immigration applications from Afghan citizens has also reportedly been paused.
