Weather Report During Thanksgiving Holidays In US

US Weather on thanksgiving holidays

Web Desk — Millions of Americans are traveling by road or boarding flights over the Thanksgiving holiday, and fortunately the weather, unlike earlier this week, is set to be mostly friendly.

The good news is that the storm that brought bad weather to the central and eastern United States early this week is over. AccuWeather says bad weather may continue into the portions of the Northeast till Wednesday afternoon.

According to AccuWeather, early travelers in New England especially could see weather impacts. The National Weather Service said that up to 8 inches of snow was expected in parts of northern Maine and “blustery” conditions could deepen in the Northeast.

The National Weather Service has warned that travelers in the West should keep an eye on a winter storm around the Rockies.

Relatively clear conditions in wide swaths of the nation are welcome as more than 55 million people will travel over the Thanksgiving holiday, the American Automobile Association has reported. This is the third-highest amount of travel over Thanksgiving since 2000 and most of the travelers will be driving.

The low-pressure system will largely move off the East Coast by Thanksgiving morning, bringing clear skies just in time for Thanksgiving festivities, the weather service said.

As forecasters predict temperatures below average, Americans across much of the country may notice a nip in the air on holiday. Temperatures could be up to 10 to 20 degrees colder than usual in the Central and Southern Plains, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration said.

The weather service said that the holiday will bring moderate to heavy snow on Thursday and Friday. Much of Colorado and Utah are expected to see accumulating snow Thanksgiving evening and into the next morning, while parts of Wyoming could see a foot of snow by Friday evening.
