Web Desk: In a significant diplomatic development, the President of the United States, Donald Trump, has publicly praised the leadership of India and Pakistan for reaching what he described as a “historic and heroic” decision.
Taking to Truth Social, the US President wrote, “I am proud that the USA was able to help you arrive at this historic and heroic decision.”
He also announced plans to expand trade ties with both South Asian nations and expressed a willingness to assist in resolving the long-standing Kashmir dispute. “I will work with you both to see if, after a ‘thousand years,’ a solution can be arrived at concerning Kashmir,” he stated.
Calm Returns to Indian-Administered Kashmir
Meanwhile, there are promising signs of peace returning to Indian-administered Kashmir. For the first time in two weeks, gunfire has ceased in Srinagar, and the atmosphere is reportedly calm.
According to Indian news agencies ANI and PTI, multiple districts, including Poonch, Samba, and Kupwara, remained free of shelling and drone activity overnight. Other areas like Budgam, Akhnoor, and Mendhar also reported a stable security situation.
Pakistan Denies Ceasefire Violations
In response to recent claims by Indian officials, Pakistan has firmly denied any breach of the ceasefire agreement. Shafqat Ali Khan, a spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, rejected the accusations made by Indian Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri.
Khan reaffirmed Pakistan’s full commitment to upholding the ceasefire agreement, emphasizing that no violations have been committed. “Pakistan remains dedicated to the ceasefire understanding and continues to abide by its terms,” he said.
