OpenAI has rolled out a new feature for ChatGPT called Pulse, designed to act like a personal assistant that delivers tailored daily updates based on user interests. Currently in preview for Pro subscribers, Pulse will expand later to Plus users.
The tool uses chat history and feedback to create visual update cards covering topics like local news, travel tips, language learning—or even crypto and stock market insights, a growing use case among retail traders.
OpenAI CEO Sam Altman said the feature marks a shift from ChatGPT being purely reactive to becoming proactive and personalized. Pulse can also link with Gmail and Google Calendar to help manage schedules and tasks.
The launch comes amid rising demand for AI-powered financial tools. A Finder survey found 16% of UK investors use AI for stock picks and 15% for crypto tips, while 40% rely on it for budgeting and credit advice. Analysts expect the robo-advisory market to surge from $61.7B in 2024 to $470.9B by 2029.
