Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Sunday publicly praised U.S. President Donald Trump for airstrikes on Iran’s nuclear infrastructure, describing the decision as a “historic and courageous move.”
In a video statement released shortly after the operation, Netanyahu congratulated Trump, saying, “First comes power, then peace.” He went on to call the U.S. action a pivotal moment:
“Congratulations, President Trump. Your bold decision to target Iran’s nuclear facilities with the awesome and righteous might of the United States will change history.”
Netanyahu added that history would remember Trump as the leader who stood firm against what he called “the world’s most dangerous regime” and its pursuit of nuclear weapons.
According to Israeli Channel 14, the two leaders spoke on the phone shortly after the strikes were completed.
The operation, announced by Trump on Saturday via his Truth Social account, involved coordinated U.S.-Israeli military action against three Iranian nuclear sites: Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan. Reports indicate the U.S. deployed B-2 stealth bombers to deliver six bunker-buster bombs on the heavily fortified Fordow facility, while over 30 Tomahawk cruise missiles were launched from American submarines targeting Natanz and Isfahan.
Following the attacks, the Israeli military raised its nationwide alert level, suspended public education, banned large gatherings, and ordered a halt to non-essential work in anticipation of possible Iranian retaliation.
