Web Desk — Iran has indirectly warned Jordan of serious consequences if it keeps supporting Israel.
According to media reports, it was the Jordanian air force that shot down and intercepted dozens of Iranian drones that had breached its airspace and were en route to Israel.
Regional security forces said that radar systems were keeping an eye out for any drone activity coming from the direction of Syria and Iraq. The Jordanian army was also on high alert.
People heard a lot of aircraft activity in a number of cities, close to Syria, as well as in the central and southern parts of the country.
Several Iranian drones were shot and downed in south of Amman, the capital – 60 km (37 miles) from Jerusalem.
To strengthen its border defence, Amman requested late last year that Washington should send Patriot air defence systems to Jordan.
Jordan is one of the Muslim countries that has full diplomatic ties with Israel. Besides, both the countries have cordial relations.
