Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has issued a stark warning to the United States, declaring that Iranian military forces have their “fingers on the trigger” and are fully prepared to respond to any act of aggression. The statement comes as a direct reply to recent threats made by U.S. President Donald Trump.
In an official statement, Araghchi also reiterated Iran’s stance on nuclear diplomacy, stating, “Iran has always welcomed a transparent nuclear agreement—an agreement without nuclear weapons, one that ensures Iran’s rights.”
Our brave Armed Forces are prepared—with their fingers on the trigger—to immediately and powerfully respond to ANY aggression against our beloved land, air, and sea.

Echoing the defiant tone, Iran’s mission to the United Nations warned that if the U.S. attacks, Iran reserves the right to self-defense and will deliver a response “unimaginable to anyone.”
The escalation follows comments from President Trump, who earlier stated, “a very large naval fleet is moving towards Iran at an unusual speed.” He compared it to the fleet sent to Venezuela but emphasized this one was larger, led by the “great aircraft carrier Abraham Lincoln.”

Trump added that this naval fleet is similarly capable of completing its mission with “power and violence” if needed, while also expressing hope that Iran would “soon come to the negotiation table.”
