The German parliament has approved a major expansion, worth approximately $3.1 billion, to a contract for the sale of the long-range Arrow 3 missile defense system to Israel. This new approval builds upon an initial agreement reached between the two nations nearly two years ago.
According to the Israeli Ministry of Defense, this latest development is a continuation of the earlier deal, which was valued at roughly $3.5 billion. With the new contract, the total value of the transaction has now reached approximately $6.5 billion. This makes it the largest defense export agreement in Israel’s history.
In a statement, the Israeli Ministry of Defense said the Arrow 3 system deal will take defense cooperation between the two countries to new heights.
