China Develops “The Most Effective” Corona Vaccine

Beijing: (Web Desk) China, the world believes is the ‘hometown’ of Covid-19, is undoubtedly doing more than others against the deadly virus.

According to media reports, China has developed a new but the ‘most effective’ vaccine against multiple Covid variants.

Research done on the new vaccine shows 79 percent efficacy against the dominant Delta variant and overall 67 percent against any variant.

Developed by Chengdu-based Clover Biopharmaceuticals, the protein-based Covid-19 vaccine candidate is also the world’s first Covid-19 vaccine that has been proven effective against all three mutations (Delta, Gamma, and Mu), Guangzhou-based vaccine expert Zhuang Shilihe told the Global Times.

Clover announced on its website that it had achieved the primary efficacy endpoint and secondary efficacy endpoints in SPECTRA, a global pivotal phase II-III clinical trial.
