LAHORE – Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi has made a major announcement for Pakistan Super League fans, revealing that new cities will be added as venues for next year’s edition of the tournament.
Speaking after the conclusion of HBL PSL 11, which saw Peshawar Zalmi crowned champions in front of a record-breaking crowd at Gaddafi Stadium, Naqvi promised that PSL 12 will be even bigger and better.
‘New Cities Will Get Hosting Rights’
“PSL 12 will be larger and improved. More cities in Pakistan will also get hosting rights,” Naqvi announced.
The PSL 11 final at Gaddafi Stadium witnessed a historic turnout, with the venue completely sold out. The record attendance of 32,461 spectators was the highest for any PSL match in the tournament’s history.
Gratitude to Lahore Crowd
Naqvi specifically thanked the people of Lahore for their passionate support throughout the tournament, especially during the final.
“The people of Lahore have proven their love for cricket. They watched the match with incredible discipline and supported both teams wholeheartedly,” the PCB Chairman said.

New Venues for PSL 12
While specific cities have not yet been named, the inclusion of new venues marks a significant expansion from PSL 11, which was restricted to only two host cities (Lahore and Karachi) due to austerity measures amid the Middle East crisis.
Potential cities that could be included in PSL 12:
- Rawalpindi / Islamabad – Pindi Cricket Stadium
- Multan – Multan Cricket Stadium
- Faisalabad – Iqbal Stadium
- Quetta – Bugti Stadium (pending security clearance)
A Word on Austerity
PSL 11 was originally planned to be held across six cities, but due to the economic situation and austerity measures, the PCB reduced the number of host cities to two. Naqvi had previously stated that this decision saved significant resources while still delivering a high-quality tournament.
