Netanyahu denfds Qatar strike

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has unapologetically defended Israel’s strike on Qatar, drawing a controversial comparison to the U.S. operation that killed Osama bin Laden in Pakistan.

In a video statement, Netanyahu declared that just as September 11 marked the worst terror attack in American history, Israel’s equivalent was October 7, when what he described as “the most brutal massacre of the Jewish people since the Holocaust” took place.

“After 9/11, the United States pledged to hunt down terrorists wherever they were and passed a Security Council resolution that no government should shelter them,” Netanyahu said. “By the same principle, we targeted the terrorist masterminds in Qatar who orchestrated the October 7 massacre. Qatar shelters them, funds them, and provides them with lavish facilities.”

Defending the military action, he equated it directly to U.S. counterterrorism missions. “This operation was no different from what the U.S. did in Afghanistan against al-Qaeda fighters and in Pakistan when it eliminated Osama bin Laden,” he asserted.

Netanyahu also lashed out at Israel’s critics. “Those who condemn Israel should be ashamed. When the U.S. killed bin Laden, no one sympathized with Afghanistan or Pakistan. The world praised America. Today, the world should also praise Israel’s actions,” he said.

Issuing a stern warning, the Israeli Prime Minister added: “I tell Qatar and all countries that harbor terrorists—either expel them or bring them to justice. Otherwise, we will do it ourselves.”
