Web Desk — The 3-match series whitewash over Afghanistan has made Pakistan the No. 1 Men’s ODI team once again, the International Cricket Council (ICC) announced on Saturday.
Pakistan won the first ODI by 142 runs but the second match proved to be a tough one as the green shirts got victory in the last over by one wicket in hand.
Pakistan won the third match convincingly by 59 runs. On a slow pitch, Pakistan finished strong, making 268 with Mohammad Rizwan and Babar Azam scoring half-centuries.
Faheem Ashraf snared two early on before the spinners struck at regular intervals to keep the Afghan batters in trouble. Mujeeb ur Rahman tried to fight back with a 26-ball half-century, but Pakistan eventually had too much on board for Afghanistan to clinch the victory.
Shadab had three wickets as Pakistan completed a whitewash.
