Speaker Calls NA Session After President Refused To Do So

NA session

Web Desk — The Speaker has called the National Assembly session on February 29 at 10 am as President Arif Alvi returned the summary to convene the session.

The secretariat in a statement said that the NA session is bound to take place on the 21st day of the general elections under Article 91 of the Constitution.

The secretariat officials said that the president could have summoned the session on the 21st day but he did not.

According to the NA secretariat, the president and speaker’s notification is not required to summon the session on the 21st day of the polling.

Many constitutional experts are also of the view that the speaker has the constitutional right to summon the NA session in case President refuses to do so.
