Pakistan’s Parliament Warns India: Water Blockade Will Be Treated as Act of War

National Assembly passes resolution against India

Web Desk: In a powerful and unanimous move, Pakistan’s National Assembly on Monday passed a strongly worded resolution condemning India’s alleged water aggression and false flag operations, warning that any attempt to block Pakistan’s water will be viewed as an open declaration of war.

Chaired by Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, the parliamentary session slammed India’s suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty, calling it a blatant violation of international law and a deliberate provocation.

Resolution Condemns Indian False Flag Tactics

The resolution also strongly condemned the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Indian-occupied Jammu and Kashmir, and rejected India’s attempts to blame Pakistan without evidence. Lawmakers called it part of a “systematic and malicious campaign” aimed at tarnishing Pakistan’s international image.

“Pakistan categorically condemns all forms of terrorism. The killing of innocent civilians goes against our core values,” the resolution emphasized, reaffirming Pakistan’s status as a victim, not a sponsor, of terrorism.

Full Support Reaffirmed for Kashmiris’ Struggle

Reiterating Pakistan’s unwavering commitment, the Assembly expressed full political, moral, and diplomatic support for the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK). Lawmakers called the Kashmiri struggle for self-determination a just and legitimate cause.

The resolution also condemned India’s involvement in sponsoring terrorism and orchestrating targeted killings within Pakistan and across the region.

Any Aggression Will Be Met With a Decisive Response

The Assembly made it clear that any Indian misadventure would face a strong and decisive response, similar to the military retaliation following the 2019 Balakot airstrike.

“Pakistan will defend its sovereignty at all costs and will never compromise on national security,” the resolution declared.

Speaker Slams India’s Baseless Allegations

Speaker Ayaz Sadiq criticized India for consistently leveling baseless allegations against Pakistan without proof. He reminded the international community of Pakistan’s heavy sacrifices in the war against terrorism, including the loss of over 90,000 lives. He also called for an impartial investigation into the Pahalgam incident.

Omar Ayub’s Hard-Hitting Speech: “Water Blockade Is Act of War”

Opposition Leader Omar Ayub delivered a fiery speech, warning that India’s suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty was a dangerous step. “This treaty once sparked wars between India and Pakistan. Suspending it again will be considered an act of war,” he said.

He stressed national unity in the face of aggression: “If war breaks out, the entire nation, including the opposition, will defend Pakistan with our lives.”

Referring to historical criticism, he added, “If General Ayub Khan sold our rivers, how is India now able to block them? The facts speak otherwise.”

Fazlur Rehman Walks Out Over Government’s ‘Lack of Seriousness’

In a dramatic moment, JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman walked out of the Assembly, accusing the government of failing to take the crisis seriously.

He said to the media, “This House should’ve been full today. Yet the front row is empty. Who are we supposed to speak to?”

Fazlur Rehman expressed frustration over the absence of senior government officials during a national emergency. “If the government was serious, it would have consulted us and taken the House into confidence,” he said.

In response, Deputy Speaker Dr. Tariq Fazal Chaudhry persuaded Maulana Fazl and other JUI-F lawmakers to return to the session.
