Pakistan’s Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has made it clear that Pakistani pilgrims traveling to Iraq will not be allowed to stay beyond the permitted duration under any circumstances.
Speaking during a meeting with his Iraqi counterpart, General Abdul Ameer Al-Shammari, in Brussels, Naqvi said that relevant institutions in Pakistan and Iraq will remain in close coordination regarding matters related to pilgrims. He emphasized that the safety, dignity, and facilitation of Pakistani pilgrims are the government’s top priorities.
The Iraqi Interior Minister assured that only those pilgrims whose names appear on the list provided by Pakistan’s Ministry of Interior will be granted entry into Iraq. He also announced plans to visit Pakistan soon to finalize a joint framework of cooperation.

Both sides agreed to strengthen mechanisms for security cooperation, counterterrorism efforts, and the prevention of human trafficking.
