A motion was presented in the firey session of the lower house of the parliament asking the speaker to form the special committee. During the session majority of the members suggested that the Parliament should ‘assert’ its powers.
Defence Minister Khawaja Asif, while addressing the house, emphasized that the parliament should send a strong message to defend its territory. The minister was of the view that a section of the judiciary was giving ‘unprecedented concessions’ to PTI Chairman Imran Khan in corruption cases.
Leader of Opposition Raja Riaz, in his remarks, strongly condemned the recent violent acts in the country.
MQM’s Salahuddin said the recent violent acts were intolerable. He said the judiciary was giving ‘concessions’ to the PTI Chairman at whose behest public and private properties were ransacked.
