Chairman of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB), Lt. Gen. (R) Nazir Ahmed, has said that those who looted Pakistan will no longer find London and Dubai to be safe havens.
A walk was organized by NAB Rawalpindi in connection with International Anti-Corruption Day. The event saw large participation, including Speaker of the National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, members of the National Assembly, the NAB Chairman, schoolchildren, and people from various walks of life.
Speaking at the event, the NAB Chairman said that the aim is to completely eliminate the menace of corruption from Pakistan. “We are also expanding our efforts beyond Pakistan. Working with international partners, we will bring back the wealth that has been illegally transferred abroad,” he stated. He reaffirmed that London and Dubai “will no longer remain safe zones” for those involved in plundering national assets.
National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq also addressed the participants, saying that while NAB was previously used as a tool for political victimization, the situation has changed. “Those working honestly no longer need to fear NAB,” he added.
