Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has said that he made it clear to Afghanistan’s Acting Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi that Pakistan only seeks one thing — that Afghan soil should not be used against Pakistan.
Speaking during a Senate session, Ishaq Dar revealed that Acting Afghan Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi called him six times yesterday. “I told him that we only have one demand — your soil must not be used against us,” Dar stated.
The Foreign Minister recalled that when the Taliban took control of Afghanistan in 2021, a Pakistani delegation had visited Kabul, saying they had come “for a cup of tea,” but, according to Dar, “that cup of tea proved to be very costly for us.”
Dar noted that in the four years since the Taliban’s takeover, there had been no formal engagement between the two countries. “I visited Afghanistan myself, held talks with their leadership, and reached certain agreements. My only demand was that Afghan soil must not be used against Pakistan,” he emphasized.

Commenting on reports that clerics in Punjab were being given Rs10,000 to Rs25,000, Dar said he was not aware of such payments but added, “If this is true, it is unfortunate.”
