YouTube “Shorts Monetization Option” On for Pakistanis Now.

Pakistani can earn money from Youtube Shorts

Web Desk — Finally YouTube comes to inform creators that they will be able to generate ad revenue from their ‘Shorts’ content starting February 1st, as YouTube promised in September last year to launch this monetization option.

This can be called a broader update to YouTube’s Partner Program. This requires YouTube partners to sign new agreement terms, whether or not they wish to monetize their Shorts. Creators, previously, could only generate revenue from Shorts through features such as Super Chats and shopping integrations, as well as a creator fund set up by the company.

This update will let a large number of Pakistan creators earn more from the YouTube platform as we know a large number of Pakistanis focus on Shorts.

Creators will have the option to opt out of monetizing their Shorts content if they wish to.

What’s New?

For the partner program’s terms, YouTube is introducing a modular system, where everyone will have to sign a base agreement that explains which type of content can be posted and how the payment system works.

This is applicable only to content creators who are already partnered with YouTube.

For partners to accept the new terms, the company has set a deadline of July 10, 2023. In another case, monetization will be turned off and they will have to reapply to the program.

For “Watch Page” and Shorts monetization, an additional agreement is required which partners must agree to separately.

Available on February Ist, the Shorts agreement allows content creators to receive a cut of the revenue from ads viewed between videos in the Shorts Feed.

New Eligibility Requirements

The announcement about the monetization of Shorts comes at a time when YouTube is revising requirements for joining the YouTube Partner Program. Earlier, one of the requirements was to have 4,000 public watch hours on your content in the past 12 months. Starting in October 2022, Shorts were included in that requirement.

The eligibility requirement has now been modified. According to the new requirement, one has to either have 4,000 hours of non-Shorts content or 10 million views on public Shorts within the last 90 days. However, to be eligible in both cases, creators must have a minimum of 1,000 subscribers.
