Titan Imploded Underwater Killing All Onboard: US Coastguard

Titanic submersible tragegy

Web Desk — Mission Titanic ended in a tragedy as the US Coast Guard and OceanGate Expeditions on Thursday confirmed the deaths of the five men on the missing Titan submersible.

A robot sent to find the missing submersible found its parts on the ocean bed near the famous Titanic ship they wanted to see.

The remotely operated vehicle discovered the landing frame and rear cover of the missing submersible in a devastating blow to any hope that the men may still be found alive.

According to experts, the sub had a crack due to immense underwater pressure and imploded, killing all five men on board.

The Oceangate officials have yet not confirmed whether the tourists had a chance to see the Titanic for which they paid $250,000 per person or died earlier.

US Coast Guard Rear Admiral John Mauger expressed his deepest condolences to families who lost their loved ones in the tragic incident. He said the debris is consistent with the catastrophic loss of the pressure chamber. He said the affected families were immediately notified upon this determination.

Admiral Mauger further said that the prospect of recovering any of the victims’ remains was slim. He said the search operation would continue down there but there was no answer for prospects at this time.

According to Maugher, it was almost impossible to ascertain the exact time of implosion. He said that none of the sonar buoys that have been in the water since Monday have detected an implosion sound.

Pakistani businessman Shahzada Dawood (48) and his son Suleman Dawood (19) were also among the five tourists on board.

Who is Shahzada Dawood?

Dawood was a keen enthusiast of all things related to the iconic ship, the Titanic. On Father’s Day, this year, he booked a place on a once-in-a-lifetime expedition for him and his 19-year-old son, Suleiman, to see the Titanic wreck in the icy depths of the Atlantic Ocean.

Having a successful business career, Dawood earned respect both nationally and internationally. He spoke several times and the World Economic Forum as well as the United Nations. He also worked as director and vice chairman of the Engro Corporation.

He was a trustee and active member of his family’s philanthropic foundation, The Dawood Foundation. It was his life’s mission to help uplift countless lives and to transform communities.

The Dawood Foundation, under his guidance, emerged as a catalyst for change, focusing on vital sectors such as education, healthcare, disaster relief, arts, culture, and social welfare.

Dawood transformed countless lives through strategic initiatives and innovative programs to empower the have-nots of society. It goes without saying that through initiatives like promoting education, environmental conservation, agriculture, and skill development, Dawood tried to bridge the gap between corporate success and social welfare, leaving an enduring legacy of responsible corporate citizenship.

Others Onboard

British businessman and explorer, Hamish Harding, French deep-sea explorer and Titanic expert, Paul-Henri Nargeolet, and Stockton Rush, CEO of OceanGate who owned the submersible were also among the five people who lost their lives in this accident.
