Israel Has No Intent To Occupy Gaza: Blinken

US foreign secretary

Web Desk — US Secretary of State Antony Blinked says it is clear that Israel won’t “occupy” Gaza after the war ends.

The top US diplomat had to make this clarification after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s pledge to manage Gaza’s security for an “indefinite period” after the war.

Blinken told reporters that there may be a need for some transition period at the end of the conflict, but it is imperative that the Palestinian people be central to governance in Gaza and the West Bank as well. He further said that the reoccupation of Gaza was out of question.

“What I’ve heard from Israeli leaders is that they have no intent to reoccupy Gaza,” Blinken added.
