By Web Desk — Giving more freedom for same-sex marriages, France bans gay conversion therapy treatment. Violators of this law will face heavy fines and imprisonment.
According to foreign media, under the new law enacted in the country, therapy to normalize the sexual identity or tendencies of homosexuals has been strictly banned. The French government has announced two years in prison and a $34,000 fine for those who practice gay therapy and treatment.
The new law also stipulates that if therapy is performed on a young person or a person who is weak, he or she will be sentenced to 3 years in prison and a $50,000 fine.
US and Japan To Pressure China
The law was enacted after it was passed by a majority vote in the French National Assembly. On the occasion, French Minister for Equality and Diversity Elizabeth Moreno called gay therapy a barbaric act, while President Emmanuel Macron also praised the new law.
It should be noted that similar laws are in force in many US states.
