A group of three 22-year-old billionaires from the United States has made history with their artificial intelligence company, Mercor, surpassing the record once held by Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg.

Founded in 2023 in San Francisco, Mercor has quickly risen to prominence, now valued at an astonishing $10 billion. The company’s annual revenue is growing rapidly, currently at a run rate of $500 million per year.

The three young founders — Brandon Fodey, Aadarsh Hirematt, and Surya Madha — are officially the world’s youngest billionaires. Their company recently raised $350 million in a funding round led by Felicis Ventures, pushing its valuation into the ten-billion-dollar range.

High school friends and participants in Peter Thiel’s Thiel Fellowship — a program that supports young entrepreneurs who choose to skip college to build businesses — the trio started Mercor as a platform connecting Indian engineers with U.S. companies. Over time, Mercor evolved into a major player in data labeling and AI model training.

Although the company faces a lawsuit from competitor Scale AI, accusing it of stealing trade secrets, Mercor’s founders insist their focus remains firmly on innovation and growth.

Interestingly, all three founders come from families of software engineers and grew up surrounded by technology. Now, they join the ranks of the world’s youngest billionaires — alongside names like Mark Zuckerberg and Kylie Jenner.
