New ‘Star Trek: Picard’ Season 3 Trailer Will Stun Watchers

‘Star Trek: Picard’ Season 3 Teaser

Web Desk — There’s so much action, emotion, and new and returning characters in the season 3 trailer for Star Trek: Picard that you’ll want to watch it over and over again.

Paramount released the first teaser trailer for Star Trek: Picard’s third and final season last month on Star Trek Day. Season 3, and the impetus for getting the Next Generation crew back together, revolves around Beverly Crusher’s distress call. As part of the Star Trek Universe panel at New York Comic-Con, we get our first glimpse of Beverly and Picard together, as well as a new villain, Amanda Plummer, and Mica Burton’s daughter, Ensign Alandra La Forge, playing her father’s daughter.

At every turn in the new trailer, you’ll gasp as the characters’ final thrilling adventure is revealed. In Star Trek: Picard, Brent Spiner has played a different character every season. The role has been fitting for Spiner, who played multiple members of the Soong family on The Next Generation. In Season 1, he reprised his role as Data, and in Season 2, he played Adam Soong, Data’s ancestor. Spiner has been returning for Season 3 along with the rest of the Next Generation cast, but his role has been kept a secret. In the trailer, Spiner appears as Lore, Data’s evil twin android.

In the new trailer, Lore isn’t the only familiar antagonist. New footage also reveals that Daniel Davis will return as Professor Moriarty, a holo-novel character from Star Trek: The Next Generation. The trailer also contains plenty of content for those eagerly awaiting the return of the TNG crew, with Picard desperately searching for Beverly and Deanna Troi’s empathic senses intensifying the threatening aura of their new enemy, to Worf’s newfound pacifism and Riker’s ever-charming wise-cracks. Raffi and Seven are also heavily featured in the new footage, which includes an interesting connection between them.

For Picard Season 3, New York Comic Con went all out bringing Patrick Stewart, LeVar Burton, Michael Dorn, Jonathan Frakes, Gates McFadden, Marina Sirtis, and Brent Spiner for their portion of the Star Trek Universe panel.

On stage, the cast was joined by executive producer Alex Kurtzman, Terry Matalas, and Rod Roddenberry. Matalas also serves as the showrunner for Season 3.
