Web Desk — Larsha Pekhawar by Ali Zafar and Gul Panra has received 52 million organic views on YouTube to date, according to a press release. Singers released the fresh version of the classic Pashto song on September 22 as a tribute to Pashtun culture, but the song resonated with the masses all over Pakistan. YouTube ranked Larsha Pekhawar as the number one video within a few hours of its release.
Hassan Badshah composed the music and Waleed Akram directed the video. YouTube trended number one for around five weeks between September and October 2021.
Zafar’s Ve Mahiya featuring Aima Baig marked the start of the year. Zafar sang the OST for a drama called Pehli Si Mohabbat a few weeks later. The OST has been viewed more than 12 million times on YouTube and has become one of the most popular drama OSTs this season.
In Ramadhan, Zafar released his rendition of the iconic naat Balaghal Ula Be Kamalihi. It has received nearly 33 million views on YouTube alone.
Zafar also paid an emotional tribute to Muhammad Ali Sadpara, a Pakistani mountaineer who went missing while climbing the K2 on February 9th. In his rendition of the song Paharon Ki Qasam – originally sung by Kamal Masood – Zafar incorporates several traditional instruments, accompanied by a music video featuring snippets of Sadpara and picturesque B-rolls of the mountainous terrain he climbed. Fans also appreciated the other songs Game Bun Gai and Hum Mazdoor.
