Web Desk — It seems as if Google accidentally leaked its next flagship phone, the Google Pixel 8 Pro on its official website, Digitaltrends has reported.
It may be a coincidence that the leak was seen the same day that Apple announced the launch date of the iPhone 15 series. Journalist Mishaal Rehman was the first to spot the Pixel 8 Pro marketing render on the official Google Store website’s subscriptions page.
With a keen look, one could also spot a smartwatch in the picture, which many believe to be the Google Pixel Watch 2. The image was widely shared online before it was quickly removed from the webpage.
Google Pixel 8 Pro design
With a metallic luster on top, the Pixel 8 Pro in its white (aka porcelain) finish, flaunts its shiny glass back and the camera island strip. The looks match those of the leaked renders.
As we got on the Google Pixel 7 Pro, the standout design element, this time, appears to be the Cyclopses oval lens cutout instead of the pill-plus-hole aesthetics. The glass-sandwich design, the rounded corners, and the rest of the build elements are familiar.
Pixel 8 Release Date
Reportedly, the Pixel 8 Pro is scheduled for a fall debut during an event on October 4, 2023. It is said that the prelaunch soft reveal is the company’s trick to create curiosity among consumers before the official launch.
Pixel 8 Pro Specifications
Google’s upcoming smartphone is said to have a 6.7-inch OLED display. It is rumored to draw power from the third-gen Tensor G silicon that will be based on the 3nm process. It is the same as Apple’s upcoming A17 Bionic chip destined for the iPhone 15 Pro.
Camera Description
Some camera improvements are also expected, with the ultrawide camera getting upgraded to a 64-megapixel sensor. There is a strong possibility of an enhanced time-of-flight sensor and a thermal sensor.
Pixel 8 Expected Price
The cost will be €874 inclusive of 23% VAT for the Pixel 8 with 128GB of storage, while the 256GB variant will be sold at €949. On the other hand, the Pixel 8 Pro speculated price for the 128 GB model will be €1,235 and for the 256GB version, it will increase to €1,309. For the 512GB variant, the cost will rise to €1,461.
Pixel Watch 2
As far as Pixel Watch 2 is concerned, it is supposed to be slimmer, the band color seems creamy (instead of white), and the rotating crown also appears to be slightly different.
Market experts are of the view that the official reveal of the Google Pixel 8 series and the 2nd-gen Pixel Watch is not far away. They are sure that more definitive leaks are going to pop up in the coming days.
