Web Desk — Beginning from January 1, 2022, the United Arab Emirates will adopt a new four-and-a-half day working week with Saturdays and Sundays as the new weekends.
The United Arab Emirates announced today that it will move to a four-and-a-half-day working week starting January 1, 2022, in a tweet and official statement. The weekend will be Friday afternoon, Saturday, and Sunday.
As a result of the changes, Federal government entities will have new working hours, starting Monday through Thursday at 7:30 a.m. and ending at 3:30 p.m., and working Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

The new working week is expected to align the UAE’s financial sector with global real-time trading and communications-based transactions, such as those driving the global stock market, banks and financial institutions.
