Remains of 4 US Soldiers Returned to US

DOVER AIR FORCE BASE, Delaware – The bodies of four American soldiers killed in recent Iranian attacks have been returned to the United States, as President Donald Trump vowed that Iran will “pay many times over” for the casualties.

The remains, draped in American flags, were transported to Dover Air Force Base in Delaware, where President Trump, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, and other senior officials received them and paid their respects. Trump also met privately with the families of the fallen soldiers to offer his condolences.

18 US Service Members Killed So Far

The fallen include two female soldiers, according to reports. The deceased have been identified as 1st Lt. Tyler James Feehan, 25, of Hawaii, and Pvt. Isabella Gonzales, 19, of Texas, who were killed in an Iranian ballistic missile attack on a US military base in Jordan. Another soldier, Sgt. Angel Rampersad, who was initially reported missing following the July 17 attack in Jordan, has since been confirmed dead, bringing the total number of US military fatalities in the conflict to 18.

According to the Pentagon, more than 500 US service members have been wounded since the conflict began on February 28.

Conflict Escalates Amid Rising Costs

The arrival of the bodies comes as the US-Iran conflict continues to escalate despite a brief ceasefire. The fighting has resumed following a breakdown in the peace agreement, with both sides engaging in daily attacks.

President Trump, who received the remains at Dover, has ordered CENTCOM to “open the gates of hell” on Iran, promising severe consequences for further American casualties. However, the war is becoming increasingly unpopular at home. The White House has requested an additional $87.6 billion from Congress to fund the conflict, even as public support wanes.

The growing death toll and the rising financial burden is making the Trump administration unpopular at home as it seeks to navigate a path forward in the escalating conflict with Iran.

US Secretry of State Marco Robio, while addressing the ASEAN summit, said America was ready for talks with Iran if Iran is serious, adding that otherwise US will continue to defend its allies in the region.
