US President Donald Trump has indicated he is open to negotiations with Iran’s new leadership following the reported death of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
According to The Atlantic, Trump claimed Iran’s new leadership wants to speak with him and said he is prepared for discussions, though he did not reveal who specifically reached out.
In an interview with Fox News, Trump also claimed that 48 Iranian leaders were killed in recent US strikes. “Nobody can believe our success,” he said. “Forty-eight Iranian leaders went in a single shot.”
Three US Soldiers Killed in Iran Conflict, Five Injured
The United States has confirmed the deaths of three American service members and injuries to five others amid ongoing military operations involving Iran.
