Indonesia has expressed profound interest in benefiting from the expertise of the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) to enhance its own air force’s capabilities and modernize its training systems.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Babar Sidhu, Chief of the Air Staff, Pakistan Air Force, undertook an official visit to Indonesia during which he held high-level meetings with the country’s civilian and military leadership.
Meeting with Indonesian President
A key highlight of the visit was Air Chief Marshal Sidhu’s meeting with Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto. During the discussions, President Prabowo conveyed Indonesia’s keen interest in collaborating with the PAF to enhance the Indonesian air force’s modern training systems and overall defence potential.
The ISPR stated that the Indonesian leadership recognizes the PAF’s combat experience and professional expertise as valuable assets for cooperation.
The Air Chief also held important meetings with the Indonesian Defence Minister and the country’s military leadership. During these interactions, the Indonesian Air Chief highly praised the PAF’s combat experience and professionalism.
In recognition of his services and efforts to strengthen bilateral defence ties, Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Babar Sidhu was conferred the Indonesian Air Force’s highest honour, the ‘Medal of Honour’ .
The visit marks a significant step in bolstering defence diplomacy between Pakistan and Indonesia, with both nations looking to deepen military-to-military cooperation.
