Israel has announced its support for Iranian protesters, following a similar stance by the United States, and expressed good wishes for their success.
Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar stated, “Our issue is with the Iranian government. The Iranian people deserve freedom; we have no enmity with them. The Iranian regime is not only a problem for us but a regional and international issue.”
Earlier, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that Israel supports the Iranian people’s struggle for freedom, adding that “the killing of innocent citizens in protests is a severe violation of human rights.”
In an address to the cabinet, Netanyahu stated, “We hope the Iranian nation will soon be free from oppression and tyranny. When that day comes, Israel and Iran will once again become loyal partners for a peaceful and prosperous future for their peoples.”
