Iran Strikes Back: Hypersonic Missiles Rain Down on Tel Aviv in Retaliatory Attack

Israel under Iran attack

Monitoring Desk – In a dramatic escalation of tensions in the Middle East, Iran has launched a powerful retaliatory strike against Israel, targeting the capital city of Tel Aviv with a barrage of hypersonic and ballistic missiles. The operation, codenamed “Wa’ad-e-Sadiq III” (True Promise III), marks a significant turning point in the ongoing conflict between the two nations.

According to Iranian state media, the attack specifically targeted a major Israeli military headquarters in Tel Aviv. The strike occurred during a high-level meeting of senior Israeli military officials, and reports suggest that the facility has been completely destroyed.

Explosions rocked the city, sending shockwaves through the Israeli capital. Air raid sirens blared across Tel Aviv as terrified residents fled to underground shelters. Plumes of smoke rose over the skyline, and a tense atmosphere of fear and uncertainty gripped the city.

Iran claims its air defense forces also intercepted and shot down two Israeli F-16 fighter jets attempting to counter the attack. One of the aircraft’s pilots, reportedly a female officer, has been captured, Iranian sources say.

Israeli media, while confirming the attack, reported the use of ballistic missiles and stated that at least 19 civilians have been injured. The full extent of damage is still being assessed.

In a strongly worded statement, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei declared, “We will not allow Israel to escape. No part of the Zionist entity will remain safe. The blood of our martyrs will not go in vain.”

Following the strikes, thousands of Iranians poured into the streets in a show of national unity and celebration, hailing the attack as a justified response to earlier Israeli actions that reportedly killed Iranian civilians.

United Nations Holds Emergency Session

Amid rising tensions, the United Nations Security Council convened an emergency meeting, initially requested by Iran prior to the strike. Iran had submitted a formal letter seeking international intervention following what it described as unprovoked Israeli aggression.

Pakistan’s UN representative, Asim Iftikhar, condemned the Israeli attack and warned of the grave threat to regional peace. “This Israeli aggression is pushing the region to the brink of a full-scale war,” he said, urging the international community to intervene.

Iran’s envoy also addressed the council, accusing Israel of “state terrorism” and repeated violations of international law and Iranian sovereignty.

Global Reactions

World leaders are scrambling to de-escalate the situation. Russian President Vladimir Putin reportedly spoke separately with the Iranian President and Israeli Prime Minister, offering to mediate and urging restraint from both sides.

Meanwhile, former U.S. President Donald Trump held a phone call with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to discuss the unfolding crisis and its implications for regional stability.

Israel Responds with Further Threats

In response, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vowed further retaliation, stating, “This is not over. Iran will be struck in ways it cannot even imagine.” The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) have announced a readiness for a prolonged conflict with Iran, heightening fears of a broader regional war.
