BJP leader admits Pakistan shot down 5 Indian fighter jets

Web Desk:
The famous English idiom “Straight from the horse’s mouth” perfectly fits a recent statement by senior BJP leader Subramanian Swami, who openly acknowledged that Pakistan shot down five Indian fighter jets—a rare admission from within India’s ruling party.

“Pakistan’s jets are very good”

In a recent interview, Subramanian Swami admitted:

“Pakistan shot down our five aircraft. The jets were Chinese-made, but it was Pakistan who took them down. The aircraft given to Pakistan are very good. The French Rafale jets were not as effective.”

Rafale deal tainted with corruption

Swami didn’t stop there—he also touched on alleged corruption in the Rafale deal. He stated:

“Whatever happened in the Rafale purchase, we cannot investigate it while Narendra Modi is in power.”

Background: The Night of May 6-7 Air Clash

It is worth noting that in the night between May 6 and 7, a major aerial clash took place between Pakistan and India. Pakistan claimed to have shot down six Indian fighter jets, including French-made Rafales. While the Indian government has consistently denied this, Swami’s acknowledgment could stir a fresh debate within India’s political and defense circles.
