Telenor Pakistan Gets New CEO

Web Desk — Khurram Ashfaque has been appointed as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Telenor Pakistan. Ashfaque will succeed Irfan Wahab Khan, who will assume charge as Senior Vice President (SVP) in Telenor Asia.

However, Irfan will keep continuing as Chair of the Board of Directors at Telenor Microfinance Bank (TMB).

Telenor Pakistan’s new CEO, Khurrum comes from the position of Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the company. He has been with Telenor for 17 years and has played a key role in repositioning the company as a strong and efficient telecom stakeholder geared for the future.

Irfan became part of Telenor in 2004 as the company’s first employee and has held different leadership roles across the Group, both in Asia and Europe.

He has been CEO of Telenor Pakistan for the last seven years. During this time he has been instrumental in ensuring business resilience and furthering the digitalisation agenda.
