How to set dynamic Instagram profile picture, including an avatar

Web Desk — Now you can set both an image and an avatar as your profile photo on Instagram by using a new dynamic profile photo feature.

Instagram tweeted, “You can put your avatar on the other side of your pic and those who visit your profile can flip between the two.”

After creating your avatar, you can use it as your profile picture and in many other ways on Instagram. You can follow these steps to edit your avatar:

Simply open Instagram on your smartphone

Then tap on your profile or your profile picture

Tap on Edit Profile at the top

Then scroll down to the avatar section and tap on Edit avatar

Now you can make changes to your avatar’s appearance, such as changing the skin tone, outfit, and hairstyle.

Once you complete the changes, tap on Done and Save changes.

For its users, Instagram just made Quiet Mode available. Those who use Instagram will be able to notify their followers that they are not active on the site by setting their account’s status to “In Quiet Mode” with the new feature.

As Instagram states, the new function is meant to urge young users to cut back on their screen usage.
