Samsung Setting Up Mobile Phone Plant in Pakistan!

Web Desk — The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has formally allowed the South Korean electronics giant Samsung to start production of its mobile phones in the country through its local partner Lucky Motor Corporation Limited.

The PTA has handed over a Mobile Device Manufacturing (MDM) authorization to Lucky Motor to set up a mobile phone production unit in Karachi.

The arrival of Samsung and setting up its production unit in Pakistan has been hailed by existing players including Airlink, manufacturing major Chinese mobile phone brands including Huawei.

Digital Cheque Clearing Introduced

The PTA has so far issued 25 MDM to foreign and local companies.
