Web Desk — Fatigue and weakness usually keep people away from workouts during Ramadan but those who are seriously health-conscious go to the gym regularly during the holy month.
The gym business in Jeddah has grown since Ramadan began, according to Arab News. During Ramadan, gyms and fitness facilities offer discounts on memberships and group exercise packages. To meet the increased demand, many gyms extend their hours until late at night. Nader Abdul Jawad, an Egyptian trainer at The First Gym in Jeddah said, “While Ramadan is a time for self-reflection and devoting more time to religious aspects, it doesn’t mean you should stop training or exercising. This is a good time to make a change.”
He said that during Ramadan, gyms everywhere transform into overcrowded hot spots for young and old people following their Ramadan workout plan.
Many fitness and medical experts believe that workouts in Ramadan for weight loss can be even more productive as compared to other months because fasting increases the functioning of human metabolism and the fat-burning process.
