PSL 7th edition: brief matches detail

Web Desk — Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 7 is underway. The mega event kicked off on January 27, 2022. The event will be played at 2 venues – National Stadium Karachi and Qaddafi Stadium Lahore.

Thu, 27 Jan

MSvKK

PSL7’s opening match was played between defending champion Multan Sultans and Karachi Kings. Multan Sultans easily beat Kings in 19th over by reaching the 125-run target. MS won by 7 wickets (10 balls left).

Fri, 28 Jan

PZvQG

In the 2nd match of Pakistan Super League (PSL) 7, Peshawar Zalmai achieved a difficult target of 191 runs after a thrilling contest against Quetta Gladiators at a loss of 5 wickets in 19.4 overs.

LQvMS

Traditionally Lahore Qalandars had a bad start in Pakistan Super League as Multan Sultans defeated Lahore Qalandars by 5 wickets after a thrilling contest. Qalandars could not even defend 206 runs.

QGvKK

The same day Quetta Gladiators got their first victory by defeating Karachi Kings. QG won this match by 8 wickets (25 balls left).

It was the tournament’s very important match between Lahore Qalandars and Karachi Kings. Lahore Qalandars reached their target of 171 runs in the last over (19.2) overs. Qalandar’s Fakar Zaman scored his first century of the event. He made 106 off 60 balls. It was Fakhar’s 7 PSL century. On the other hand, it was Karachi King’s 3rd consecutive defeat in the tournament.

Islamabad United made a victorious beginning at PSL 7 by defeating Peshawar Zalmi. IU achieved the 169 run target in the 16th over. IU won this match by 9 wickets (25 balls in hand).

Monday, 31 Jan

Multan Sultans once again proved their metal and beat Quetta Gladiators by 6 runs. Tim David’s brilliant catch led Sultans to victory in the last over. Quetta Gladiators were bowled out for 168 in pursuit of the 175-run target set by the Sultans.

Tuesday, 01 Feb

On Tuesday there was a high-scoring match between Multan Sultans and Islamabad United. IU won the toss and elected to field first. MS made a total of 217 runs on the scoreboard. Chasing the target IU captain Shadab Khan’s individual 91 runs could not save his team from defeat. The entire IU eleven was out for 197. MS won the match by 20 runs. This was MS’s 4th victory in the tournament.

Wednesday, 02 Feb

Lahore Qalandars defeated Peshawar Zalmi by 29 runs in the 9th match of the 7th edition of Pakistan Super League (PSL), played at National Stadium Karachi.

Lahore Qalandars scored 199 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in 20 overs. Fakhr Zaman remained prominent by scoring 66 runs.

In pursuit of Lahore Qalandars’ target of 200 runs, Peshawar Zalmi’s team scored 170 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. Haider Ali remained prominent by scoring 49 runs.

Thursday, 03 Feb

Islamabad United scored a massive victory against Quetta Gladiators in the 10th Match of Pakistan Super League Season 7, played at National Stadium Karachi. Islamabad United beat Quetta Gladiators by 43 runs. Islamabad United Captain Shadab Khan took 5 wickets in the match.

Colin Manor of IU was given the player of the match award.

QG had won the toss and elected to field first.

Friday, 04 Feb

Karachi Kings had its 4th humiliating defeat at the hands of Peshawar Zalmi. The Zalmi beat the Babar Azam eleven by 9 runs. The Karachi Kings team will now find it hard to move to the next PSL Level.

Saturday, 05 Feb

Lahore Qalandars beat Islamabad United after a thrilling competition. In the second match of the day Multan Sultans beat Peshawar Zalmi. It was Multan Sultans 5th victory in the tournament.

Sunday, 06 Feb

Islamabad United beat Karachi Kings by 42 runs in the 14th match of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 7. The match was played at national stadium Karachi. It was Karachi Kings 5th consecutive defeat in the tournament.

Monday, 07 Feb

Quetta Gladiators beat Lahore Qalandars by 7 wickets. Gladiators Jason Roy made 116 runs and declared man of the match. Lahore Qalandars had set a target of 205 runs for Gladiators. In this match Quetta won the toss and elected to filed first.

This was the last match of PSL-7 Karachi leg. The second phase will start at Lahore Qadaffi Stadium.

Thursday, 10 Feb,

Multan Sultans beat Peshawar Zalmi by 42 runs. The match was played at Qaddafi Stadium Lahore. It was Multan Sultans 6th consecutive victory at PSL 7.

Friday, 11 Feb,

Lahore Qalandars beat Multan Sultans by 52 runs at Gaddafi Stadium Lahore.

Saturday, 12 Feb,

Islamabad United played against Quetta Gladiaors. Quetta Gladiators won by 5 wickets.

Sunday, 13 Feb,

Peshawar Zalmi vs Karachi Kings, Peshawar Zalmi won by 55 runs.

2nd Match: Quetta Gladiators vs Lahore Qalandars. Lahore Qalandars beat Quetta Gladiators by 8 wickets.

Monday, 14 Feb,

Islamabad United vs Karachi Kings. IU won by 1 run.

Tuesday, 15 Feb,

Peshawar Zalmi vs Quetta Gladiator. Peshawar Zalmi beat Quetta Gladiators by 24 runs.

Wednesday 16 Feb,

Karachi Kings vs Multan Sultans. Multan Sultans won by 7 wickets.

Thursday 17 Feb,

Peshawar Zalmi vs Islamabad United. PZ won by 10 runs

Friday 18 Feb,

Multan Sultans vs Quetta Gladiators. MS won by 117 runs

Saturday 19 Feb,

Lahore Qalandars vs Islamabad United. LQ won by 66 runs

Sunday, 20 Feb,

Quetta Gladiators vs Karachi Kings. QG won by 23 runs

Monday, 21 Feb,

Peshawar Zalmi vs Lahore Qalandars. PZ won the super over (4 balls left)

Multan Sultans vs Lahore Qalandars. MS won by 28 runs.
